Michele Chiarlo Barolo DOCG Cerequio Riserva (750ml)

Michele Chiarlo produces a Barolo from the Cerequio cru only in the best vintages and in very limited quantities.  The cru of Cerequio is located within the municipality of La Morra, in the Barolo DOCG appellation.  It is a 2,5 Ha vineyard with soils of calcareous marl clay of sedimentary marine origin from the Tortonian period (9 million years ago). Characterised by a basic pH, poor in organic matter, but rich in microelements such as magnesium and manganese.  The vineyard is exposed south, south-west and sits at an elevation of 320 m above sea level.  The grapes are hand harvested and age for a minimum of 18 months in oak and five years total before release.
