Ochota makes remarkable wine in the most unusual of landscapes, deep in the forest of the Basket Range (a sub-appellation of the Adelaide Hills). It’s an amazing part of the world that produces singularly unique wines that are a far-cry from the extracted and heavily oaked wines that Australia can sometimes be associated with. The name of this wine is an apt one – it truly tastes of the forest with notes of cherry, peppercorn, moss, damp earth and more. It’s savory and juicy and bright – everything a Pinot Noir lover looks for in a wine. This may be the best of all the Ochota Barrels wines in the store.
