Lost Bell Tidal Bay (750ml)

The winery now known as Lost Bell was first established in the 1980s. Founders Doug & Suzanne Corkum started their dream in the 1980’s by planting vineyards and together, along with the help of their family they realized their vision to start a winery.  In June of 1990 they opened the doors of Sainte Famille Wines. Suzanne became the first female winemaker in Nova Scotia and helped pave the way for what is now a booming wine industry.  The estate is situated on a gently sloping hill overlooking the Avon River Valley and is one of the warmest vineyard sites in Nova Scotia.   In 2020 Sainte Famille came up for sale and was purchased by local beverage titans, Nova Scotia Spirits Co and rebranded as Lost Bell Winery. 

The name Lost Bell came from a local mystery.  The story goes that a bell was crafted by the former Acadian inhabitants of the Sainte Famille parish who melted their gold and cast it into a church bell.  Under the threat of expulsion from English soldiers, the Acadians submerged the bell in one of the ponds on what is now their estate vineyard.  To this day, the bell remains hidden, waiting to be discovered.
